Lera Lynn has a knack for landing in unexpected places. She started out releasing her debut LP Have You Met Lera Lynn in 2011, but it was her involvement with the second season of True Detective that really put her on the map. Working with legendary producer T Bone Burnett, she created music for the show, and series creator Nic Pizzolatto liked what he heard so much that he cast her as a recurring character performing in a dive bar. That collaboration with Burnett also led to work with Rosanne Cash, with two tracks they wrote together ending up on Cash's 2018 album She Remembers Everything. Her 2016 album Resistor picked up a review in Rolling Stone, and she has kept a steady output going ever since, with records including Plays Well With Others, On My Own, Something More Than Love, and the 2025 release Comic Book Cowboy rounding out a catalogue that spans folk, country, and Americana.
