Morgan Wallen has a knack for breaking records that nobody expected a country artist to break. His 2021 double album Dangerous spent its first seven weeks at number one on the Billboard 200, something no country album had ever done, and his 2023 follow up One Thing at a Time kept the momentum going with 19 weeks at the top. The single "Last Night" from that album won the Year End Hot 100 chart for 2023, and "You Proof" holds the record as the longest running Billboard Country Airplay number one of all time. His sound sits squarely at the crossroads of country and country pop, drawing on classic influences while pulling in listeners well outside the traditional country audience. His collab with Post Malone, "I Had Some Help", made history as the first song to debut at number one on both the Hot 100 and Hot Country Songs simultaneously.
