About

Orden Ogan are a German power metal band from Arnsberg with a strong folk metal streak, and they have been quietly building one of the more distinctive identities in the genre since their debut album Vale landed in 2008. Rock Hard Magazine famously tagged them as the only legitimate Blind Guardian successor, which is about as high a compliment as European power metal offers. Every studio album carries the loose concept of Alister Vale, an immortal cursed to wander while everything he leaves behind decays, and the cover art across the whole catalogue comes from Andreas Marschall, the same artist behind several Blind Guardian sleeves. Their trajectory has been consistently upward: To the End charted at number 41 in Germany in 2012, Ravenhead pushed that to number 16 in 2015, and Final Days hit number 3 in 2021. Along the way they put in time on the road with Tiamat, Rhapsody, Hammerfall and others, and their single The Things We Believe In has racked up over 5.8 million YouTube views. Frontman Sebastian Levermann also runs Greenman Studio, where he handles mixing duties for the band and has worked with Rhapsody of Fire. Their eighth album, The Order of Fear, arrived in 2024 on Reigning Phoenix Music.
