About
Gloryhammer are a British power metal band built around a fully costumed, character driven concept: every member takes on a role in an ongoing sci fi and fantasy story, and they hit the stage in full armour to match. The band was founded by Christopher Bowes, the keyboardist also known as the frontman of Alestorm, and they put out their debut album Tales from the Kingdom of Fife through Napalm Records in 2013. Their second album Space 1992: Rise of the Chaos Wizards landed them on official charts in multiple countries and brought tours alongside Stratovarius, Blind Guardian and HammerFall. After some turbulent years including the departure of original vocalist Thomas Winkler in 2021, Sozos Michael stepped in as the new singer. The fourth album Return to the Kingdom of Fife followed in 2023, with singles carrying names like "Holy Flaming Hammer of Unholy Cosmic Frost" that give you a pretty good sense of what Gloryhammer are all about.
