About
Powerwolf lean hard into a world where heavy metal and gothic church imagery collide. The German group built their whole identity around religious iconography, werewolf mythology and vampire legends, backing it all up with operatic vocals, church organ, and dense symphonic arrangements. Frontman Attila Dorn brings genuine classical opera training to the mix, which goes a long way toward explaining why those dramatic vocal performances land so well. Since their 2005 debut Return in Bloodred, they have climbed steadily through the German charts, hit number one with 2013's Preachers of the Night, and earned a gold certification in the Czech Republic for Blessed and Possessed. By 2024 they had released ten studio albums, each accompanied by new costumes that fit the era's theme. Their devoted fanbase, who call them The Wolves, has kept growing across Europe, and the band shows no signs of slowing down.
