Sierra Ferrell spent years busking between Seattle and New Orleans, selling self released albums out of a van before Nashville came calling. Her sound pulls together folk, bluegrass, and gypsy jazz with touches of tango and calypso, a combination that caught the ear of producer Gary Paczosa, known for his work with Alison Krauss and Dolly Parton, and landed her a deal with Rounder Records. Her 2021 breakthrough Long Time Coming featured collaborators like Billy Strings and Sarah Jarosz, earned a five star review from Country Music People, and hit the Billboard Americana chart. Her 2024 album Trail of Flowers took things even further, sweeping the 67th Grammy Awards with four wins including Best Americana Album. She collaborated with Zach Bryan on "Holy Roller", contributed backing vocals to The Black Keys' Dropout Boogie, and covered Adele's "Someone Like You" in bluegrass style alongside Lukas Nelson. The Trail of Flowers single "Dollar Bill Bar" got a proper official video treatment, giving a taste of her restless, genre bending approach.
