About
Two friends from the Isle of Wight who spent a decade hanging out before deciding to start a band, Wet Leg went from debut single to Grammy winners in the space of a couple of years. That debut single, "Chaise Longue", dropped in 2021 and racked up millions of streams almost immediately. Their self titled first album followed in 2022, hitting number one in both the UK and Australia, and landing nominations for the Mercury Prize alongside two Grammy wins: Best Alternative Music Album and Best Alternative Music Performance. They also picked up Best New Artist and Best British Group at the 2023 Brit Awards. Playing sharp, wry indie rock with post punk edges, the band draws on influences like PJ Harvey, the Strokes, and the White Stripes. Their second album, Moisturizer, arrived in 2025 as a full five piece effort, with touring members Henry Holmes, Josh Mobaraki, and Ellis Durand formally joining Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers as core members. It debuted at number one in the UK, confirming that the first album was no fluke.
